#tbt – The Shoemaker Wedding

Happy #tbt!

This is a beautiful wedding shoot from last year from Lauren and Brian’s Goodwood Museum Outdoor Wedding & Reception! I loved every minute I got to spend with this couple and honored to be a part of your wedding day.

Lauren’s Review 5.0 Stars for her Goodwood Museum Outdoor Wedding Reception

Kay is absolutely amazing! I love her! She is so organized and she makes you feel so comfortable and confident for your big day. Not only is her photography absolutely amazing but she is so easy to work with. She really takes the time to listen and get to know your likes and dislikes. I was worried that it would be hard to gather everyone for pictures and to direct everyone for different pictures but Kay works wonders! I didn’t have to worry about it at all. I honestly didn’t worry about pictures all night because I knew Kay was there and she had it more than covered. She is also very good at blending in and making sure she doesn’t get in anyones way. I cannot compliment her enough! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone that is in need of an awesome photographer.

#tbt – The Lockard Wedding

It’s Thursday – so that means throwbacks. What a fabulous Goodwood Museum and Gardens Tallahassee Wedding Reception this was for the Lockard Family! Emily and Tim’s wedding was just what I knew it would be. A glorious day celebrating this wonderful couple surrounded by their family and friends. I loved Emily’s unique dress, with the delicate cap sleeves. After their catholic ceremony at Good Shepherd Church they headed to Goodwood Museum and Gardens in a trolley. From the moment they arrived, fun was had by all! The hours of dancing and laughter with Tom and the Cats playing hits and letting the bridesmaids join in on vocals and percussion were awesome!

The Lavoie’s – FSU Alumni Center Wedding

The Lavoie’s – FSU Alumni Center wedding was such great fun! Jill and Brian Lavoie are huge FSU fans so it was only fitting that they had their wedding at the Alumni Center. Instead of a formal sit down dinner the Lavoie’s planned a fun bowling party, complete with the FSU Spirit Hunters (Jill was a former member) and Lofty Pursuits ice cream cart. Jill and her maids got ready at the historic Park Avenue Inn. The wedding took place under Spanish Oaks and blue skies at the Alumni Center. Her brother even got into the ceremony by stepping up to talk with them- it was a very sweet moment.
Wedding party pictures were shot inside Doak Campbell Stadium on Bobby Bowden Field since Jill and Brian are huge FSU football fans. In fact, they met at an FSU Homecoming celebration a few years ago- so the garnet and gold runs deep. Family and friends loved the Alumni Center reception eating, dancing and mingling. I even set up the {PG} PhotoBooth to capture silly pictures of the guests!
Jill shared an impromptu dance with her brother, and there was not a dry eye in that house. What an amazing wedding gift.
After their sparkler exit they headed to Westcott Fountain with their friends that are also alums (yes the bride got in!) I can say, I have never seen that before and it was so much fun. An epic end to the Lavoie’s – FSU Alumni Center gorgeous wedding day! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lavoie!
Jill and Brian’s Story….
How did y’all meet?
Through mutual friends at FSU homecoming weekend 2012
What are your favorite things about each other?
My favorite things about Brian are his ability to make me laugh, his emotional strength and kind heart, he makes me feel safe, we have so much fun together, I love sharing life with him, he is a family man, he always takes good care of me and our families, and he’s so darn handsome too. Brian said his favorite things about me are: “smile/laugh, Fun to be with, loving, caring, her love/ passion for both her work and family. Love and passion for me, will do something even though she does not like it just for me example roller coaster or motorcycle”
What are your favorite hobbies?
Our favorite hobbies are watching FSU football or baseball, going to new restaurants, food trucks, traveling, being outdoors, bike riding, picnicking, boating, spending time with family and friends, going to Disney, and putting puzzles together.
What is your favorite place to visit and why?
Our favorite place to visit is Tallahassee. We think its beautiful and we love the culture and lifestyle and we hope to live there as permanent residents in the near future. Also, it’s where we met. And I spent 4 of the greatest years of my (Pre-Brian) life there as an FSU student.
How did you choose your ceremony and reception site?
We met in Tally. Tally is where our hearts are. We love FSU. It’s what brought us together and is a huge part of our relationship. We are almost always in Noles gear almost daily. We wanted to incorporate that into our wedding in a classy way.
Why did you choose Kay Meyer Photography for your wedding?
We love your work we’ve seen online and we got a great recommendation from our great friend Lauren Weekley.

A Wondrous Wedding in Washington D.C. – Carlton and Ian

There’s nothing quiet like photographing a family wedding. I was absolutely over the moon when I found out the news that Carlton, a cousin of mine, was going to be married. Carlton and Ian were wedded in the exquisite city of Washington, D.C. As you can see, I was able to travel to several locations throughout D.C. with the wedding party and shoot at each magnificent setting. Best of wishes to these two.

Merry Christmas Kukla Family – Family Portraits at McCord Park, Tallahassee, Florida

I found myself capturing the gleaming Kukla family dazzled in bright smiles for a very Merry Christmas family portrait session. McCord park made for such a lovely, natural backdrop of fall color that set the holiday mood perfectly. The family of three graced the shoot with amiability and sweet affection, as you notice glancing through their pictures. The couple and their precious son undeniably spread such lively cheer that so simply finishes off the wonderful portraits.

Merry Christmas Gardner Family – Family Portraits at McCord Park, Tallahassee, Florida

I was able to shoot the charming Gardner Family for their Merry Christmas family portraits. As you can see why, McCord park is one of my favorite locations to shoot at in town. I headed off to the park for a Christmas family photo shoot with the gorgeous Gardner family – Lesley and Trey, and their son Jake and daughter Grayson. It was an afternoon that delighted in the joyous company of the beautiful family along with their precious dog, Charlie. The family was filled with so much glowing love you can’t help but notice is reflective in every portrait of them all.

Merry Christmas Dixie – Family Portraits at Milestone Plantation, Thomasville, Georgia

I got to capture a Christmas themed shoot of Dixie, a warm-hearted dog lover, along with her two dogs Quincy, an American water spaniel, and Annie, the dachshund, as well as her cousin’s American water spaniels, Harper and Beanz. The shoot took place at Milestone Plantation, a private residence of luscious acres of land in Thomasville, Georgia. The plantation made for a gorgeous day filled of radiant smiles from both the dogs and their adoring owners.

Dixie wanted new portraits of these awesome dogs to use as updated head-shots for her career at the veterinary equipment and supply business, Pennvet (www.pennvet.com).
